When visiting Banda Abao, the western part of the island, it is definitely worth a visit to Landhuis Ascencion. If the Landhuis-Ascencion is occupied you can see this in our calendar.

This plantation house, dating from 1672 and taken into use by the Royal Navy as a training center in 1965, is one of the most beautifully restored and furnished country houses in Curaçao. The country house is located high on a hill to the right of the road as you drive from Willemstad to Westpunt, just before the village of Barber. Every first Sunday of the month there is an Open House.

Every Thursday at 09:00 there is a guided tour in and around the Landhuis, provided that the Landhuis has not been reserved by third parties . Walk-in with coffee/lemonade from 08:30. You must register in advance by email or telephone. This is to avoid disappointment.

Nature walks and excursions are regularly organised on weekends. During these guided tours and nature walks on the former plantation you will learn more about the history, flora and fauna of our beautiful island. The Landhuis is regularly used for study days, group formation, training and team building. Many groups and organisations use these facilities. The Landhuis offers the opportunity to have good conversations in peace and quiet. It is also possible to celebrate baptisms and weddings at the Landhuis. In addition to the chapel for the church sacraments, the entire Landhuis and the garden are used. An excellent place to celebrate a party. The Landhuis is also available for weekend rental, during which the kitchen can be used. The sleeping loft can accommodate groups of up to 40 people. Next to the chapel is a spacious lockable parking lot. The Landhuis is increasingly used as a starting, resting or finishing location for various events. If you want to visit the Landhuis on other days than during the Open House or want to rent the Landhuis privately or want to participate in one of the activities, this is only possible by appointment.
