Playa Kanoa is a beach on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, located to the north of Willemstad. It is one of the few beaches on the northern side of the island. Surfing is a popular activity on the beach. There is a snack bar as well as a fish restaurant, and there is a nearby fisherman’s village
Canoa is an off the beaten path beach on the North Side where you can surf, it is not a touristy white sand beach paradise spot but a loved, wild wave crashing inlet and surrounded by fishermen. Sometimes the local surf cronies have bonfires. A new beach hut was recently constructed by the surfers, let’s hope this one won’t be burned down. The road to Canoa has recently been overhauled due to the replacement of the wind mills. And unfortunately it may be littered with trash, though new recycling stations closer to the neighborhoods near Canoa have clearly helped, as do the clean ups from the people in the area and the surfers.
